McKendree Campus Community: For the past several years, McKendree has recognized persons who demonstrate humanitarian qualities and a philosophy of nonviolent social change such as those demonstrated by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year, we are once again asking you to assist the selection committee in Identifying a student, faculty, staff, administrator or a community member connected to McKendree University as a possible nominee for this award. The actual criterion is as follows:
Members or friends of the McKendree University Community who have demonstrated:
- Increased understanding and tolerance for all people
- Embraced humanitarian principles and ideals
- Displayed initiative through major participation/leadership in programs or service which includes some or all of the following ideals: racial harmony, socio-economic empowerment, religious understanding, social justice, and generosity and hospitality which reflects an acceptance of differences.
